About twenty minutes from Independence, MO, is Historic Liberty Jail where the prophet, Joseph Smith, was held on false charges under in-human conditions. In the depths of despair, he was comforted by the Lord and received several revelations.
They have rebuilt the jail in cross-section and have a very nice and spiritual presentation.
