After Carthage, we were about to head up to Nauvoo, but heard there was a tornado warning . . . so we stayed and ate at Dairy Queen. Christian hung out in the car, listening to the radio to check for weather updates. Just as we were leaving Carthage after the warning was past, the radio man told people in Carthage it was safe to come out of the their basements and cellars. We didn't know Carthage was in a tornado warning as well.
The Mississippi was a beautiful sight.
We were treated to a local symphony when we arrived in Nauvoo at the Visitor's Center.
We began watching "Sunset on the Mississippi" a fun musical show. The last time we saw this show, the cast was about 1/4 the size. Aleya enjoyed dancing to the music.
Sadly, our show was cut short due to the lightning, dancing all around us.
Next, we headed over to the Social Hall to watch Rembering Nauvoo, put on by the Elder and Sister Missionaries. We had to dodge lightning from the parking lot to the Hall and made it safely over there. It was a very entertaining show.
We stayed at the Motel Nauvoo. We had a darling little room with old fashioned decor.
