Scout Court of Honor 2011

At our Troop 422 Court of Honor, Joseph earned several Merit Badges from camp and also obtained his Star rank (although he had earned that back in April).

Joseph is pinning on the Mother's pin.

He's so much bigger than me now (and I'm wearing heels).

Orrin earned his Scout Rank and Rifle Shooting and Archery merit badges.  Way to go!

We have an AWESOME Scoutmaster, Brother Conover.

Orrin is back in FIAA Football

Orrin is back in Fall football again at FIAA.  He has moved up to the Pee Wee level.  We had to cut our Idaho/Utah vacation short to race back for football weigh-ins on April 14th.  It was a crazy drive.

The team won some games, but lost most.

 The entire FIAA league.

Orrin is on special teams, here, but he mostly played defense like nose tackle or right or left tackle.

Aleya Swimming with Bella

We took Aleya's best friend from Kindergarten, Bella, to the pool with us.

They had a lot of fun together.  Here they practiced diving.

The waterslide is always a blast!

Woo Hoo!

Nature in our Backyard

I think this is the 12 ducklings all grown up, now.  We had taken pictures of the cute ducklings a few months ago.

We often get these Snowy Egrets in our backyard.  Gorgeous.

Capener Family Reunion 2011 -- Part 4

After the swimming and tubing we all rested, conversed, and ate dinner together.  We also discussed upcoming reunions.

These girls were all burned to a crisp from being at the pool all day.

So will the next reunion be at the Oregon Coast or at Nauvoo?

John and Annette's 50th Anniversary is in 2 years.  They would like all their children and spouses to come to the temple with them for their Anniversary.

Time for some more fun with cousins.
Later that evening, we headed to the natural Hot Springs area with the Schmidts.

Boy were they HOT (the pools)!  We started in the coolest pool first.

Amara and Elowen enjoyed the warm waters.

This was a nice way to end the evening.

This area was a bit too hot for me.  The boys tried out all the pools, even the hottest.  Yikes! This has been an awesome family reunion.  Now only 36 hours to drive back in 2 1/2 days to Florida . . . after a good night's rest.

Capener Family Reunion 2011--Part 3

For the 2nd half of the day, took to the river for some serious wild tubing.

Mostly the older cousins and adults participated.  It was a good thing.  It was extremely turbulent and many a tube tipped over.

We hiked up a little ways to the start of the run.

Here's where we put our tubes in the water.

Joseph and his cousins took off downstream.

Nathan took his son, Porter, for an exhilarating ride.

The whole family was having fun until a few tipped over in the river.  Christian helped them get on their tubes again.

There are natural hot springs spilling over into the sides of the river forming hot tubs, of sorts.  We were all soaking in the warmth.

Christian and Jake set up in the center of the river to catch our family member's tubes and direct them to the natural hot tub.

This is the hot spring water spilling down into the river.

We had a huge tub and tube party going on in the river.

Finally, we set off again down the river.

It was an incredible and memorable tubing experience at Lava.
