Orrin's Baja Buggyz Birthday Bash

For Orrin's Birthday this year we took the family and a couple handfuls of friends to Baja Buggyz. We all had an incredible time!

Aleya is hanging on for dear life.

These pint size buggyz were a blast for adults, as well.

They had a cool track with sharp turns and bunny hills, and lined in tires for the crashes.

Joseph took mom for a spin.

Even Amara got to drive!

We ended the fun with pizza and presents. It was economical in time and money!

Fishin' in our yard

There's nothing like having your own fishing pond in the backyard. Since it's connected by pipes out to Doctor's Lake and the St. Johns River, we have an abundance of fish, waiting to be caught.

Orrin likes catching the big catfish.

Drama Club Field Trip to Alice in Wonderland

Orrin and Amara are in Drama Club at their school and will be performing in Alice in Wonderland. Andrea will help out with the music for the play. We had a fun field trip to the Alahmbra Dinner Theatre to watch a play of Alice in Wonderland.

Our director, Ginger Leinecker, got some great ideas for costuming and set from the show.

After the play, we feasted at Cici's Pizza.

Orrin's 11th Birthday

Orrin's cake came out a little odd this time. I was going for a big "11," but it morphed into a scary clown. I am definitely loosing my edge in cake decorating.

Aleya helped put in the candles.

Gingerbread Village COMPLETE!

We finally finished our Gingerbread Village. We started it Christmas Eve, then the kids ate a lot of candy off of it, and we finally finished it last night. I'm thinking . . . never again. I guess we are just not skilled in such things. Perhaps we just need BETTER FROSTING. Nothing would stick . . . everything oooooooozed and dropped. It was quite a disaster. The hot glue-gun helped, but it was still quite a mess.

The back side of our candy village nightmare.

Middle-eastern Meal

This is our Christmas Eve authentic Middle-eastern meal . . . postponed until January 2nd.

Lamb, cous cous, olives, and American corn.
Unfortunately, Andrea was the only one that liked it.

Firework show by our neighbor

This view is from our driveway. Our neighbors put on quite an impressive and spectacular display. I guess on holidays the cops look the other way. Gotta love America!

Rockin' New Year's Eve Family Party

Our family attended an AWESOME family New Year's Eve party put on by the Elliot Family.

The party featured a LIVE BAND! These guys had only been together for two weeks. Incredible!

The kids had the best time dancing to the music.

What's a party without the Chicken Dance?
The couple on the right are the Elliots, who threw the party.

Virginia-Reel?

Aleya was running me around in circles--literally!

Joseph nearly won the limbo.

Nice tiara, Joseph! This photo is payback for not dancing with your mother!

Joseph finally got up and danced-- the Macarena!

Happy New Year!
(the New Year's countdown was nearer to 9PM, but to be expected at a family-type party).
