Normally, I would not go to the Jacksonville Zoo in the heat and humidity of July, but we wanted to go see the animatronic dinosaurs, like we enjoyed at the Wild Animal Park in San Diego.
We enjoyed all the life-size dinosaurs.
The grounds at the Jacksonville Zoo are well-groomed and lovely, a little reminiscent of San Diego. Several of the ponds were completely swampy, covered in green slime. That's typical in FL at this time of year. It's a great place for alligators to hide.
This zoo has it's own stingray petting area, as well.
They have giraffe feeding here year-round.
We ended our fun with a carousel ride and a quick trip to our air-conditioned car. We'll have to come back when it is cooler.
