Bon Voyage ~Day Two

Our girls got their first taste of Adventure Ocean, the kids' camp on board. They had a blast!

Aleya got her face painted.

Next, we went to the best show on the ship! The Ice Dance show.

This performer was visiting from Las Vegas.

They had spectacular costuming.

After the show we all got dressed up for the formal evening.

This was the ONLY night we brought the kids to the dining room (we took them to the buffet all the other meals). We forgot to get a reservation, so we ate at 9PM.

The tri-level dining room and sparkly chandeliers were mesmerizing for the girls.

Aleya enjoyed the fancy tableware and even rearranged all the forks and knives for us.

Dessert was divine!

The towel pets are always a fun surprise before bed.

Spring Break Bon Voyage! ~Day One

Our kids got the surprise of their lives when our trip to Ft. Lauderdale, to see our old homes and enjoy nature, turned into a family cruise to Labadee, Haiti and Fallmouth, Jamaica. We were headed on a 5 night cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas.

Always hit the buffet first when you get on board.

We enjoyed the windy warmth as the ship pulled out to sea.

Then we hit the golf course to kick off the family fun!

Even the public restrooms had a fantastic view on this ship.

Baseball Season in Florida

It's Spring and we're at it again.

Joseph is playing on the 15U Texas Rangers this year.

His team was doing well in the first half of the season, but midway through they switched and began playing a new set of teams that were more challenging.

St. Patricks Day 2011

Guess who got kicked out of school today? He had convinced me it was "Crazy Hair Day" and was allowed. I had to pick him up at the office and bring him home to wash out his hair. "Too distracting, they said."

Aleya had a fun St. Patrick's Day party at Preschool.

Aleya loves preschool.

Orrin's Last Pinewood Derby Car

This was Orrin's last Pinewood Derby car that he built and designed with his dad.

This was a whole new pack to race against in Fleming Island, FL . . . how would they compare to the pack in San Diego?

Pack Cheerleaders.

This year's design included racer red spray paint and a variety of leftover decals from various car designs in past years.

Guess who won 1st Place!?! Guess who's going to district!?!

The races were very heated at the district finals at our local shopping mall. Orrin's car jumped the track and they almost forced his car to race backwards, but mom wouldn't allow it. Duh. All the weight needs to be in the back.

The district races had a sophisticated track with electronic stats sent straight to a laptop for some serious precision measuring of speed and time.

The competition was fierce! Orrin won 3 out of 4 races with the top speed and time.

Guess who broke the track record? Yep . . .we smoked it!

Guess who won 1st place again? No, it wasn't Orrin. He did win, but he was disqualified because he's too old. It turns out that only 10 and under (Webelos I) can race in our local district. Orrin turned 11 in February. DARN IT! We still beat everyone, though. WAY TO GO ORRIN!

Basketball at the YMCA

Joseph played basketball at our local YMCA. His coaches were awesome.

They finished it all on top . . . the season and the tournament. Way to go!
