St. Patricks Day Playgroup Party

Aleya was invited by Zach and his mommy to St. Partrick's day playgroup. She had to wear her green dress.

The food was green, but tasty.

There was lots of frolicking by all the leprechaun-sized children.

Green deviled eggs, split-pea soup, green apples, asparagus, green jello, green noodles, and green cupcakes!

Sledding at Big Bear 2010

It was a beautiful sunny and semi-warm day for sledding and tubing at Big Bear MCCS.

Last year Aleya was sick when we came sledding, so she was feeling a lot better this time.

Dad helped her get started.

There she goes!

Joseph discovered that the new sled from Costco is the fastest . . . which is not always good.

This was the final run of the purple tube. I hit a jump and tore a 20 inch rip in the vinyl.

After popping the purple tube, we rented some plastic ones from the office.

Amara found a semi-constructed snowman and finished it off.

She made it a snowgirl with long hair.

Aleya had the most fun of all the kids. She kept wanting to go over and over and over again.

Orrin kept going a little higher than he should have on the hill, and paid the consequences with a massive wipeout. "Are you okay, Orrin?"

There were some pretty fun snow-jumps.

Orrin really got some air with that one.

We ended all the sledding fun with a family snowball fight, with sled-shields. It was a successful family snow outing. Wish we could do this more often . . . or that we could afford to go skiing or snowboarding.

Disney's California Adventure 2009

After jumping out of the car in a complete 45 minute traffic jam and deciding to hoof it the rest of the way to the entrance, we finally arrived at Disney's California Adventure. Christian arrived later after finally parking the car.

This is one of our favorite rides . . . Soarin' Over California. Aleya was finally tall enough to ride.

Aleya loves to go to the Playhouse Disney show.

Orrin was selected to participate in a show.

The girls enjoyed wearing their princess dresses to meet Cinderella.

We finally found Mickey Mouse!

Christian and Amara rode in the front seats of California Screamin.'

We were surprised to find a new 3-D ride, Toy Story Mania. It was REALLY fun and we wished we could ride it again, but the line was too long.

Aleya met Jessie, from Toy Story.

Next we road on the ferris wheel. They've added a giant Mickey face to it, lately.

This ride is more entertaining than your typical ferris wheel, because there are buckets on tracks that give you a ride within a ride.

Watch out, the extra motion may make you sick.

We finished the day off in Bugs Life land.

One more ride on the Tower of Terror and it was time to go home.

Orrin's Patriotic School Musical for 4th and 5th Grade

Joseph was asked to help with the lighting for Orrin's school play. His friend, Luke, helped also.

Orrin played the part of a Polish immigrant who came to California.

The fourth graders spoke about California history and sang songs about California.

The 5th graders spoke about each state in the U.S. and sang "50 Nifty United States."

The cast ended the evening with "God Bless America." This was the best and most educational school play I have ever seen. IT WAS FANTASTIC!

Orrin really enjoyed participating and he really looked dashing as a Polish immigrant.

Amara's First Year of Softball

Amara was invited by our neighbor to join his softball team, when a member of the team quit.

Amara was so excited to try something new. She is on the G-force with her good friend, Lea.

She is still learning about the game and how to hit and catch, but she loves every minute of it.
